Il progetto musicale The Nine Tears nasce nel giugno 2011 da un'idea di Michele Perrella il quale decide di dare forma e sostanza alle sue composizioni solistiche. Grande amico e manager di Gene Crazed, primo one man band rockabilly italiano, gli propone di suonare le chitarre nei propri brani confidando nella sua esperienza musicale, frutto di anni passati sui palchi italiani ed esteri e di una notevole cultura musicale.  L'intesa si rivela subito vincente e il primo brano, Killing time,  realizzato come The Nine Tears, ottiene subito numerosi riscontri positivi da parte di amanti del genere, di esperti nel settore e di un altro one man band, Carlo Baldini, ideatore del progetto dark wave My terminal and the trip.  Colpito dalla creatività e dalla versatilità strumentale e compositiva dimostrata col suo solo project Michele gli propone di suonare il basso nei Nine Tears. Carlo accetta e l'intesa si rivela anche con lui vincente, le sue linee di basso risultano ideali per il percorso sonoro intrapreso dal duo che da quel momento diventa ufficialmente un trio. La band si mette subito al lavoro per realizzare il suo primo EP che verrà pubblicato entro il mese di ottobre per la The Holy Hour Records. La band, nei primi mesi del 2012, si mette subito al lavoro per registrare il suo primo full lenght e "ingaggia" il musicista e remixer Gerardo Konte. Con il suo supporto partecipa al Gothic Room 2012 e si accinge a realizzare il singolo E.R.M.O.Y. che anticipa l'uscita dell'album Candid shade of pleasure.

The musical project The Nine Tears was born in June 2011 from the mind of Michele Perrella, who decided to give shape and substance to his solo compositions. Great friend and manager of Gene Crazed, the first one-man band Italian rockabilly, he offers to him to play the guitars in their songs, confident in his musical experience, result of years spent on Italian and international stages and of a remarkable musical culture. The agreement turns out to be good when their first song, Killing Time, realized as The Nine Tears, immediately gets many positive responses from fans of the genre, experts in the field and another one-man band, Carlo Baldini, creator of the darkwave project My Terminal And The Trip. Impressed by the creativity and flexibility demonstrated by his compositional and instrumental solo project, Michael invites him to play bass in the Nine Tears. Carlo accepts and the arrangement proves successful with him, his bass lines matches perfectly with the sound path taken by the duo, which from that point officially became a trio. The band starts immediately to work to make his first EP to be released within the month of October for The Holy Hour Records. The band, in early 2012, it instantly goes to work to record his first full length and "engages" the musician and remixer Gerardo Konte. With his support participate at the Gothic Room 2012 and start to realize the single E.R.M.O.Y. anticipating the release of Candid shade of pleasure.
